Definition of the network:

LR-WPAN is low-range, low-cost, tolerant ultra low power node consumption wireless network. The network is designed for versatile use. In the process of development of the network the emphasis is laid upon the universality, facilitating the application and the use for various purposes and activities.


Network function:

LR-WPAN is a versatile network which performs data collection, management and monitoring of remote objects. It accomplishes a wide range of activities. One of its best features is the opportunity to use this network in automated billing systems as for heating system book-keeping, gas supply, central plumbing, electrification, etc. In that case the network provides bidirectional data connection between remote users’ measuring devices (heating distributors, individual gas meters, individual electricity meters etc.) and billing service center of services providing companies. This bidirectional connection ensures not only data gathering from the individual and technological measuring devices, but also remote control and management of these devices as well as other activities (such as shut down of non-accurate subscribers, management and control of technological processes, etc.


Network design:

The network consists of two different type devices – network nodes and Access Points. The network nodes are connected to client devices or Billing service center through CMOS serial interfaces via access points. Every network node consists of wireless transceiver and network controller – the Billtronik JSC UHF communication module. The controller performs node network functions. The Access Point acts as a gateway to other mid or long range public or private communication data networks. It consists of UHF communication module, system controller and GSM, GPRS or Ethernet module manufactured by our company. The controller provides network functions to the access point.
